Crossroads Foundation Volunteer Days

On January 18th and 19th, 2012, ICS TRUST and it's employees dedicated their time volunteering at the Hong Kong based non-profit organization Crossroads Foundation.

Although based in Hong Kong, Crossroads’ work reaches all places in need throughout the world. Approximately half of all collected goods are distributed within the Hong Kong SAR, the equivalent of 58 x 20' containers per year, with trucks delivering goods to Social Welfare Department sponsored cases as well as several local NGOs.

During their time at the foundation, our employees were divided into teams and had responsibilities that varied from administrative roles, gardening and cleaning as well as repairing and sorting donated electronic goods and computer hardware.

The atmosphere was jovial and everyone was happy to be helping such a good cause.

Eliza Wu, Manager of Private Client Services at ICS TRUST said “I felt very happy while doing the volunteering work at Crossroads and it was a very meaningful task as I knew  people would receive help from Crossroads. In addition to that, I myself learnt something from the process. While it looks like we were giving our help to others, actually, at the same time we learnt from it as well.”

Pierre Boulanger, Manager of Business Development and Sales, also said  “I had a fantastic day at Crossroads.  Not only does it help less fortunate people to survive in difficult situations but it also provides us with an opportunity to build relationships with our co-workers.  Although we all wish we could do more to help, time is often an issue, so this was a great opportunity. Small gestures like this often go unnoticed but it make us feel great once it’s done.”
