Elizabeth L. Thomson, the Founder and President of ICS Trust (Asia) Limited, describes herself as “a lawyer by profession, an entrepreneur by choice". A Canadian by birth, Ms. Thomson was educated at the Bishop Strachan School, University of Western Ontario (B.A. (Hons.)), University d’Aix - Marseille and McGill University, in the National program graduating with an LL.B. in common Law and B.C.L. in Civil Law. She is a member of the Law Societies of Ontario, Canada, the U.K., Hong Kong and Australia.

Based in Hong Kong since 1977, Ms. Thomson has, for over a quarter of a century, helped thousands of highly successful, independently-owned client businesses by providing them tailor-made solutions with respect to tax, corporate restructuring,
expanding their businesses in Asia, doing business in China and helping them to stay competitive in the global market. market.

Ms. Thomson is a Director of the Hong Kong Women’s Foundation, a founding member of the American Chamber of Commerce’s Entrepreneurs Group, a member of the Board of Governors of the Bishop Strachan School and a member of the Hong Kong International School Special Learning Needs Steering Committee. She is a Fellow of the Asia Offshore Association, a member of the International Tax Planning Association and the Hong Kong Trustees Association. She founded the Women Business Owners Club in 1990 in order to assist women entrepreneurs. She was a Director of the Canadian Business Association (now the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong), the Canadian Club and the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association Toronto chapter. She was also a Governor of the Canadian International School.

Ms. Thomson’s expertise and profound understanding of doing business in Asia has attracted a host of local and international professional organizations to invite Ms. Thomson to speak at gatherings of key business leaders in Asia and North America. Ms. Thomson’s speeches at events organized by such prominent bodies as the Canadian Institute, The Hong Kong-Canada Business Association and The Hong Kong Trade Development Council among others have helped many organizations turn visions into practical and appropriate business solutions for success. Ms. Thomson has also received recognition of her expertise through being invited to appear as a guest lecturer for the MBA class of the prestigious Richard Ivey School of Business (London, Ontario) at the Hong Kong campus.
