BANKING REQUIREMENT
As of April 1 2012, Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprises (WFOEs) in Dongguan must receive their capital injection in Renminbi (RMB) from the foreign entity.
Previously funds could be exchanged in China but now it has to be done prior to the capital injection, which means that the foreign entity must have a RMB account.
This also means that WFOEs in Dongguan are required to open a "Renminbi Capital Account", an account type that didn’t even exist until this rule was put in place, as opposed to open a "Foreign Currency Capital Account".
